Makeup Revolution I ♡ Makeup Blushing Hearts Blusher Review

Monday, January 26, 2015

Hello lovelies! Before I even knew about Makeup Revolution I would usually just dream about owning cute things. Thanks to them, this beautiful I Heart Makeup Blushing Hearts-Candy Queen of Hearts Blusher is now in my possesion. Of course I was super excited to see this on the website as I have been dreaming of owning the Too Faced Sweethearts Blush, which is probably the inspiration behind the Blushing Hearts Blushers. Even though I still don't own my dream blush because it's expensive and it's not sold in the shops around here, I definitely think this is a great alternative. I haven't used it much yet but I definitely see Blushing Hearts being my go-to blush.

The finishing look of the blush on the face is just lightish pink. Of course you can probably dab more on the blush and get it a bit more darker but I usually like being simple. Tha packaging is adorable. I can't stop looking at it. It's a bit bulky but I prefer it that way and the color of it is out of this world. Gold is always a good choice, makes it classy :)

P.S. I tried getting a couple of shots of it on my face but I failed. Most of the shots I had too much light on my face and I just looked too pale.

Tv Shows: An Update

Friday, January 23, 2015

Last time I talked about the tv shows that I watched it was in 2013. A bit more than a year later and I think it deserves to have an update because lots of new shows made it to my list and lots of them got lost in the way.
Outlander: It follows the story a WWII nurse Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) who in the year 1945 goes to Scotland on a second honeymoon with her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies), and from there she travels back in time to 1743. From then on you go on this adventure with Claire as she tries to hide her secret and return to her own time. In the mean time she encounters a Highlander named Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) who will most definitely make you swoon. I should mention that the show is based on the highly popular Outlander book series by Diana Gabaldon. You will also love the scenery of this show as it is set in Scotland, the landscapes are just breathtaking. Also.. men in kilts. Need I say more?

The Walking Dead: As much as I love this show I think it would have been so much better if it was picked up by a network other than AMC. I just feel the network is limiting the show itself. I mean they don't even curse and you would expect them to curse since you know.. walkers everywhere but nope. Of course I really love the show and the fact that they are not scared of killing big characters is very entertaining for me. The soundtrack is killer too. Another thing that gets my attention is that the make-up for the walkers gets better each season. Very well done.

You're the Worst: The main characters Jimmy (Chris Geere) and Gretchen (Aya Cash) really are the worst but hey! they seem to be perfect for each other... maybe. Every episode had me laughing and it's a rare thing to love sporting characters as much as leading ones but Edgar (Desmin Borges) is an hilarious character. This is a must watch if you love original content and not cheesy romantic comedies.

Shameless: Every season of Shameless leaves me wanting more because I love the Gallagher's and how they never have their shit together. Having to put up with Frank (William H. Macy) makes the show fun for me because he is impossible to put up with. This show is messy, raw and emotional and I like that about it. And you never know what kind of mess these characters are going to get themselves into but you are on for the ride.
Arrow: Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) has been presumed dead after his yacht goes missing at sea and after five years he returns to his city having become the Arrow (altough he doesn't get the name until later) to kick ass with his posse. Altough the series has lots of action/crime up in its sleeve it does tend to bore me. Maybe it's because of it's tone, which is 90% serious and 10% not so serious. And that 10% probably involves the lovely, funny, smart Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), who is my favorite and I think she's the main reason why the show is a lot better for me, especially this season.

The Flash: Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) got struck by lightning and now he's the fastest man alive. And what will he do with that speed? Fight against crimes of course. Central City will have an hero who is not only handsome but also very smart. And it's a great thing that they got a lot more humor in here than they have in Arrow.

Once Upon a Time: Magical it is. Every season our herous are fighting off another evil character from a different story. And sometimes some characters that you've known to be good might be bad and some bad could be good. I really enjoy this aspect of the show. It fools you but in a good way.

The 100: 97 years after a nuclear war that destroyed Earth we see that survivors on a spaceship called Ark has formed it's own civilization. The 100 juvenile delinquents that are on board are sent back down to Earth to see if it is suitable for living. After they are sent down the adventure begins and they are now on survival mode. The plot is quite interesting and even though it has its flaws it still draws you in. With shows like this I'm just looking for good entertainment and this is exactly that.
New Girl: Jess (Zooey Deschanel) definitely moved into the best apartment in the world. The guys that she lives with couldn't be more cute, weird and awesome. I enjoy watching every episode of the show. The chemistry between the actors really reflect into their characters. It's great to watch and really feel the friendship that has developed between these people. Every single character is unique and the thing that makes them unique is the thing that makes you want to keep watching.

The Big Bang Theory: Right now the show is on its eight season and it has been renewed for two more so we got plenty of nerd to live on. After all the years the characters show change but sometimes they are exactly the same. I really like the episodes where something unexpected happens about the characters. Like when something pushes them out of their comfort zone or lures them out of their shell. Those get the most laughs out of me.

Awkward: The title says it all. This show has been awkward from the get go and it never stopped being exactly that. Most of the time Jenna (Ashley Rickards) is relatable. She is not the most likable character but she doesn't have to be. It's always fun seeing the next awkward thing that the writers shove into our faces.

Masters of Sex: The reason I started the show was mostly because of Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan. They portray their characters very professionally that it almost seems real. Another reason is that the series is based on the life and works of Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Their research on human sexuality was a breakthrough in its time.
Teen Wolf: They are always coming up with interesting storylines that make you wonder throughout the season. The acting is very well, especially Dylan O'Brian. I think he owns every single scene that he is in. He playes Scott McCall's (Tyler Posey) bestie Stiles Stilinski who is definitely my favorite character on the show because he is funny, charming and smart.

American Horror Story: Every season is a different story. First we had our haunted hause, then we were trapped in an asylum, then we were a part of the coven and now we are watching a freak show. The acting is always top notch with AHS and the characters are always unique and interesting which is great as well. But I am not feeling the freak show because something just seems off for me this season. I never felt this way for the other seasons so I'm not sure what to do.

Orange is the New Black: Having transported money for her drug-dealer girlfriend a decade earlier, Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) is sentenced with fifteen months in prison. There she meets the other inmates and with her we start to learn about them too. But it's not just Piper's point of view we see it's the other inmates' as well. And I believe that is the reason why the show is so interesting and captivating. From all the characters you are bound to have a favorite and maybe even one you hate.

The Fosters: Quite an interesting show because it shows you this lesbian couple and the relationship they have with each other and with their blend of biological and adopted kids. The relationship is definitely built with lots of love and respect. It's actually normal for me to choose a show from the drama genre but it's not normal that it would be a family show because I don't usually go for that.

P.S. It's a good thing these shows don't air at the same time or I would be in deep shit haha. What do you guys like to watch or would like to start watching?

Photo an hour // 17.01.2015

Monday, January 19, 2015

10am: After breakfast I spent some time in bed checking social media.
11am: We decided to go shopping and look a pink building!
12-1pm: Walked around a whole bunch from one store to another and in one of them I spotted an awesome shirt.
2pm: Trying on clothes at Zara.
3pm: Car wash! Right after it was over my mom rolled down the window to thank one of the workers there and the machine suddenly squirted water and she got soaked. It was hilarious!
4pm: Decided to tidy the room a bit and stopped to welcome these two items into the family. A scarf from H&M and a perfume from Zara!
5-6pm: Helped my mom get ready for an event. The event is organized for people/families to get together, have fun and make some donations for the villages in Artvin (a city in Turkey located in the black sea area where my grandparents on my mothers side were born). I was 100% sure I wasn't going until my uncle called and said he already bought tickets. You never know what the day has in store for you!
7pm: Going to the event and running late. I had so little time to get ready but I managed...somehow. Anyways, I decided bokeh would look amazing with all the lights on the road.
8pm: Turns out we weren't that late after all. Our table looked nice and the food was amazing!
9pm: Lights out, let the show begin!
It was a fun night and we left a bit before midnight. I started to enjoy it more when two twin brothers, who were finalist in The Voice Turkey, went up on stage and sang really beautiful traditional music belonging to the black sea area. They had amazing voices, I was loving it. After their show was over we headed home and I went to bed.

P.S. I hope you guys liked my first photo an hour. It was an interesting experience for sure. I just hope I succeeded in doing it because I combined some hours where I was basically doing the same thing. Those work right?

Born Pretty Store Lipstick Review!

Thursday, January 15, 2015

Long time no see but I'm finally back. My exams ended two days ago and now I'm just waiting to get my grades. Pretty frustrating if you ask me. Anyways a month ago I was chatting with my friends at the Born Pretty Store and we decided to collaborate again. They sent me a few things to try out and write about. So here I go rambling about these wonderful items.

Sometimes you put on a lipstick and it makes you want to be in Summer when you are actually in Winter and that is exactly how the Maycheer Lipstick made me feel. I got it in the shade 04 which is a very pretty pink mixed with a bit of orange. I have never really liked light colored lipsticks but I really love the way this looks on me. It's moisturizing and it applies well but I did put on 2-3 coats to get the color I wanted on my lips but you might want it lighter. The packaging is quite nice as well. And now, considering that we are in Winter darker shades would probably be best. And that is why The Hot Shop Lipstick in the shade 14 is the perfect color for A/W season. The color is a very lovely dark pink mixed with red. It's creamy and rich in color. The packaging is probably exactly like the Top Shop lipsticks so that makes me wonder if they have this color in their collection. In general I can say that these two lipsticks have won my heart. Their quality is very good for the amount you pay to get them.

P.S. The first photo of me at the bottom is Maycheer and the second one is The Hot Shop. I took them only to show off their shade. Don't forget to tell me which one you like best, I would love to know!

P.S.S. If you ever decide to shop at Born Pretty you can most definitely use the code ELIFH10 at cheack out to get a %10 discount!

Bath & Body Works 3-Wick Candles Review

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Hello everyone! I want to start off by saying thank you for all the feedback on my goals for the year, you are all so kind and lovely. I could not have imagined that blogging could bring me so much joy but it does and I have you to thank for that. I hope you stick around here in the year as well because I certainly won't be going anywhere haha!

So for a New Years present I thought that it would be best to get something that would be beneficial to all of us at our home. The first thing that came to my mind were Bath & Body Works candles. I convinced my beautiful mother to take advantage of a sale they were having at the time and we got two of their winter themed candles. The first scent is Winter Candy Apple. We have already used a bit of this and it has a wonderful sweet smell that just fills up the room in a matter of minutes. The second scent is Sparkling Icicles. I really don't know how to explain the smell but I could maybe just say fresh. We haven't used this one yet but it will probably be as effective as the other one. These candles are quite expensive but I have the feeling that they will last a while. We will see.

Have you tried any of the Bath & Body works candles? If so, which scent is your favorite?

You Better Be Good 2015

Sunday, January 4, 2015

Happy new year everyone! It's incredible how it's already four days into 2015. My exams still haven't begun but I have to hand in an assignment on Monday so I'm working on that. At the same time I've been thinking much about my goals for the new year and even though I never force myself to accomplish these it still does feel good when they are accomplished!

Read 15 books: I read 8 books this year. You can find the posts here and here.
Get a record player: I actually got one for my birthday! It's been great listening to some of my favorite songs on it. You can see how pretty it is here.
Add 2 new cameras to collection: I did add a Zenit 122 but I already had the same camera so I sold that one. I used all my savings on a 1.4 lens for my Dslr which I'm really enjoying. I hope that counts!
Put up paintings on the wall: We now have one painting in the kitchen and one in the hallway. Not as much as I had planned but it's a start.
Shoot film: This was quite simple because I didn't put a number on it but I didn't take any more than I had the year before so I might have not done great with this. Still I used up a couple of rolls and I'm proud.
Blog more: Looking at my archives I can say I almost doubled the number. I'm glad I achieved this one because I love my blog and the blogging community.
Overcome fears: I have started to overcome my fears and tried to put them behind me. One fear that I can't seem to get over is talking to an audience. Doing that is so stressful I don't know how people do it so relaxed.

2015 Goals:
Drivers license: Even though I don't own a car I don't see the harm in having a license.
Shoot 15 rolls of film: This time I'm putting a number on it to test it out.
Read 10 books: I decided to go for less this year. I mean if I read more, then that would be great but no pressure.
Graduate and get diploma: If you didn't know it's my last year at university!
Visit at least one palace in Istanbul: I've had Dolmabah├že and Topkap─▒ on my list for a while and I hope to visit either one or maybe both!
Get a bike: After many years without one I just feel like I'd like to ride again.
Make yoga a habit: I actually started to do yoga but it didn't stick around much. I did feel really good on days where I worked on flexibility and I want to do it as much as possible.
Photo and hour once a month: This will be interesting, I hope I don't forget to do this hah!
Double my posts on the blog: Since I doubled them before I thought I could do it again.
Organize closet: From getting rid of things to maybe even purchasing new ones. I'd like to just have a nice organized closet.
Travel some place new: Any place would do.
Be healthy and happy: It wouldn't be a list withouth these two. They are the most important x

Hope you guys had a good start to the new year and I hope it will be a good one for all of us! Do you have any goals/resolutions?
